iOS 7 gaming on the iPad gets serious
SteelSeries has launched the first wireless Bluetooth iOS 7 gaming controller known as the SteelSeries Stratus.
You can experience a console gaming experience on your iPad for the first time with the SteelSeries Stratus, which connects wireless to any iOS 7 device including iPod Touch and iPhone.
The Stratus iOS 7 controller is also compatible with HDTVs via Apple TV boxes using AirPlay mirroring for compatible titles.

We’re incredibly excited to be the first gaming peripherals company to develop a standalone controller for iOS devices and are thrilled to see an abundance of high quality game titles rolling out from publishers everyday.”
The SteelSeries stratus comes with dual analog sticks, a D-Pad, the usual array of coloured console controller buttons and four shoulder buttons, making it the most console-like of the iOS 7 controllers released so far.
There’s also a conveniently located pause button and an on/off switch on the side. The SteelSeries Stratus aims to offer 10 hours battery life, with a full charge only taking 2 hours.
Up to four Stratus controllers can be connected to a single iOS device via Bluetooth and with the number of multiplayer apps available on the Apple App Store continuing to grow that will be very useful.
The SteelSeries Stratus will compete with the Logitech PowerShell “Made for iPhone” controller and the Moga Ace Power alternative.
You can preorder the SteelSeries Stratus now from the SteelSeries website for $99.99, €99.99 and we assume will be £99.99. It’s not currently known when you’ll actually get your mitts on the first Bluetooth iOS 7 controller though.
