A pair of LG Heart Rate Earphones have been unveiled during CES 2014, with the fitness-tracking audio providers aimed at running enthusiasts.
The latest in a raft of high-profile manufacturers to jump into the fitness monitoring tech scene, LG has unveiled the heart rate tracking headset alongside its own wrist mounted fitness tracker, the heavily rumoured LG Lifeband Touch.
Boasting small sensors within the earbuds, the LG Heart Rate Earphones are set to offer runners live tracking of their key vitals, allowing users to better pace their exercise sessions.
“The LG Heart Rate Earphones feature sensors in the earphones which track heart rate while listening to music,” Tim Alessi, Home Entertainment head for LG USA announced during the company’s CES 2014 press conference.
He added: “When used with the LG Lifeband Touch, the LG Heart Rate Earphones will wireless relay heart rate to the wrist.”
Although further details on the heart rate monitoring headphones are scarce, the company has suggested that the device will act as a less invasive way for runners to get feedback on their ongoing performances.
Although the Korean manufacturer has announced that the LG Heart Rate Earphones will launch the US this spring, the company has yet to offer any pricing detail or word of a UK arrival.
