Samsung has launched a new range of zoom cameras offering smart connectivity features.
All of the Samsung WB smart camera range models are equipped with NFC and Wi-Fi connectivity for quickly sharing.
They all have the new Tap & Go feature to connect the cameras to smartphones using NFC, without the need for pairing.
Another new feature is Photo Beam, which sends any photographs viewed on the camera straight to the connected devices, while AutoShare then saves those images or videos.
The Remote Viewfinder also allows you to use your smartphone to control the camera, perfect for framing tricky shots.
The Samsung WB range consists of three compacts and two bridge models, which aim to cater for all markets.
With a 16.3-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and 60x optical zoom, the Samsung WB2200F is the highest spec bridge camera of the range. It has a 3-inch rear LCD screen, image stabilisation, Full HD video recording and an ISO range of 80 to 6400.
The Samsung WB1100F is the slighter lower specced bridge camera with a 16.2-megapixel CCD sensor and 35x optical zoom. Video recording is lowered to 720p HD, ISO range is 80 to 3200 but you still get a 3-inch screen.
As for the compact cameras, the Samsung WB350F is the highest specced, with a 16.2-megapixel CMOS sensor and 21x optical zoom. There’s optical image stabilisation on board and an ISO range of 80 to 3200. It also offers Full HD video recording.
The final two compacts are the Samsung WB50F and the Samsung WB35F, which both have a 16.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, 12x optical zoom, optical image stabilisation and 720p HD video recording.
Basically the only difference between the two is that the WB35F has a 2.7-inch in comparison to the 3-inch of the WB50F. The WB35F is also a tiny bit smaller.
