Philips Citiscape Foldie and Frames headphones
Philips has launched a pair of new headphones, the Philips Citiscape Foldie and Philips Citiscape Frames as part of its 2014 audio line-up at CES 2014.
Joining the Citiscape headphones is the Philips E2 Fidelio Wireless Studio hi-fi speakers, the dinky Philips Dot and chunky Philips BR-1X portable speakers.
Philips Citiscape Foldie Features
The Citiscape Folie headhpones are designed to be fashion options, but still feature 40mm neodymium drivers. They’re bluetooth, wireless headphones too, which means no cords to get tangled up in.
As the name suggests, the Foldie headphones feature a collapsible design and the Citiscape brand scomes from the in-built sound isolation technology.
They will launch in April for £99.99 in white and black.
Philips Citiscape Frames Features
The Philips Frames headphones also feature a foldable, collapsible design and feature 40mm neodymium speakers.
There’s also a closed acoustic system and premium drivers, which Philips says will make for “balanced, precise sound.”
Available from June for £99, the Frames will launch in April in black and white. There will also be a tortoiseshell option available for £109, taking design hues from the sunglasses after which they were named.
Philips E2 Fidelio Features
Wrapped in charcoal grey cloth with natural wood tops, the E2 Fidelio Wireless Studio hi-speakers are column speakers that feature a unique rocker design on the top that can be used to control the volume.
They feature an integrated 4-inch woofer, a bass reflex speaker system and 100Watts of power. On the rear is an HDMI input and optical/coaxial ports. The speakers are also equipped with Bluetooth and NFC.
The E2 Fidelio speakers will be available in spring 2014 for £299.
Philips Dot Features
This small, portable speaker might fit in the palm of your hand, but Philips still claims it can pack a punch in terms of sound quality. The Philips Dot is splashproof and is designed to be a bit rugged.
It can be switched off by simply turning it upside down, and is battery powered for portability.
The Dot will retail for £60 in February.
Philips BR-1X Features
Another wireless speaker for 2014, the Philips BR-1X is a bit more powerful than the Dot. It features dual 2-inch drivers and can be daisy chained together for increased sound power.
There are also indoor and outdoor modes for the speaker, which helps improve audio quality depending on your current situation.
It will be available this January for £99.99.
