The Canon PowerShot N100 is a rather odd looking camera that packs a front- and rear-facing camera to “tell both sides of the story.”
It features a large touchscreen and the same square design that launched at CES 2013, but this time it’s taken some design cues from smartphones and given the N-series a dual-camera upgrade.
Canon PowerShot N100 Features
The PowerShot N100 features a 12.1-megapixel front-facing camera with a 1/1.7-type high sensitivity CMOS sensor.
In the front, you’re treated to an ultra wide 5x zoom lens with intelligent image stabilisation and Canon’s HS system. This includes DIGIC 6 image processing.
Around the back, you’ve got a 3-inch tillable LCD display with the rear camera mounted at the top.
The rear “Story Camera” features a wide 25mm lens that Canon claims can comfortably frame a couple standing behind the lens. This 25mm lens works simultaneously with the front camera to capture a picture within a picture, similar to the Dual Shot camera software in Samsung smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4.
You’ll have access to a wide range of automatic shooting modes, including Creative Shot, which allows the camera to capture 6 different versions of the same shot for you to play around with.
With 46 different creative effects you’ll be able to customise your shots to your hearts content.
Canon PowerShot N100 Price and Release Date
The Canon PowerShot N100 will launch in May with a price tag of £349.
