Tesco Mobile customers have something to smile about as the supermarket network announces all customers, including PAYG users, will now be offered 4G speeds at no extra cost.
With Tesco Mobile piggybacking on O2’s network, the supermarket is to open its 4G doors to all pay as you go customers to for the first time starting today, July 24.
The network’s pay monthly users have enjoyed 4G speeds – where available – at no additional charge for some time.
“The world we live in is becoming ever more fast-paced and data hungry,” Simon Groves, Chief Marketing Officer for Tesco Mobile said in making the announcement.
“No one likes being made to wait around and we see no reason why our pay as you go customers shouldn’t have access to the same speeds as pay monthly ones; which is why we now offer 4G to all our customers at prices that are accessible to everyone.”
Although there are a number of data bundle options which can be snapped up by PAYG customers - ranging from 500MB to 8GB – those not wanting to fork out for a set bundle can enjoy 4G data on the fly for just 10p per MB.
With most new handsets now coming with 4G connectivity capabilities, Tesco Mobile has confirmed that its new PAYG 4G options will be available across a raft of devices, including the Motorola Moto G 4G and Nokia Lumia 635 which can be snapped up SIM-free for £139 and £119 respectively.
