Marvel offers access to 15,000 online comics for 99 cents

Comic book giant Marvel has launched on offer whereby you can access its entire 15,000-strong online comic book library for just 99 cents.

You'll need to read fast if you're to capitalise on the offer, though. It essentially entails giving you an unlimited pass to the Marvel Unlimited online comic book service for one month only, at a cost of 99 cents (around 60 pence).

After that point, you'll have to revert to the standard subscription pricing model of $10 per month or $99 per year.

Marvel Unlimited includes a vast range of comics dating from those launched six months back to those launched 75 years ago, during the medium's so-called Golden Age. You can view all of these through dedicated iOS and Android apps, where you can store up to 12 comics at a time for offline reading.

All you need to do to claim the offer is head over to Marvel Unlimited section of the Marvel website, sign up for the service, and input "SDCC14" at the checkout.

That code hints at the reason behind the offer. It's been launched to celebrate the imminent start of Comic-Con, the massive annual comic book convention held in San Diego.

Far from being a mere gathering of comic book fans, Comic-Con has grown to become one of the most important events on the calendar of every Hollywood A-lister - and for a fair few famous British character actors and thesps to boot.
