Dell B2360d Printer Review

What is the Dell B2360d?

Many printer companies offer variants of the models they sell, so their customers don’t have to pay for features they’re not going to use, and Dell’s B2360d is just such an example. A mono laser with a high top speed, quoted at 38ppm, and high top resolution of 1,200dpi, it's equipped with a USB connection only, leaving out the expensive of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the like. It’s most likely to suit an individual who does a lot of printing, or a very small group who can share the resource through a single computer or network printer adapter.

Dell B2360d - Design and Features

In its trademark black Dell livery, the B2360d is conventional in shape, with a sloped front breaking down its cuboid lines. A fold-out paper stop completes the output tray set into its top surface, stopping pages feeding out onto the desk.

This tray is rather awkward, though, as it blocks the view of the two-line, white-on-black LCD display. Once pages are printed these also then block the controls, which is fiddly if you want to cancel a job. The control panel itself is well laid out, though, with seven buttons to navigate its simple menu system and an illuminated hibernation button.

There’s a 250-sheet paper tray at the bottom of the front panel and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray folds out from the front panel. A 500-sheet tray is also available as an option.

Dell B2360d - Installation and Software

The toner and drum cartridges are separate on the Dell B2360d, as the drum has a service life of 60,000 pages. It slides in underneath the large, cylindrical toner cartridge, which is available in two capacities of 2,500 and 8,500 pages. Both are accessed behind the fold-down front panel and changing them takes only a few moments.

Bundled software includes the obligatory supplies applet, to ensure you buy your consumables in good time, as well as a comprehensive driver.
