After a period of planned downtime for essential maintenance, the Destiny beta is now once again accessible, with Xbox One owners finally joining the party.
With PS4 gamers having had Destiny beta access for the better part of the past week, the first look at Bungie’s upcoming sci-fi epic is now open to all, although early Xbox access has been fraught with issues.
“We know you’ve been waiting, so we busted our asses to finish our chores up early,” David Dague, Bungie’s Community Manager said following the maintenance, which has kept the Destiny beta down for the past couple of days.
Speaking via the official Bungie blog he added: "This is a great moment for the entire Bungie Community to share in this adventure, and we couldn't be more excited. Get in there. Break it. Tell us what you think. Share your experiences online.”
Despite having been forced to wait to play the Destiny beta, Xbox fans are still struggling to access the pre-release gameplay due to a number of stabilisation issues.
Looking to amend the problem, the Bungie Help Twitter account alerted gamers: “If encountering Party Stabilisation errors on Xbox One: try tuning off your console, fully unplugging, then plugging in and trying again.”
Further holding Xbox owners back is a reduced visual performance as to that offered to PS4 gamers. The Xbox One Destiny beta is rendered at 900p, although Bungie has stated the final game will offer 1080p visuals.
For those already getting to grips with the Destiny beta, there is more to come.
“If you’ve already played, you haven’t seen everything yet,” Dague said. “We’ve got some surprises in store, and if you play on Saturday, July 26th beginning at 2pm PDT, we’ve got a permanent reward on reserve that will commemorate the experience.”
