Sony Xperia Z1S specs leaked

The Sony Xperia Z1S specs have leaked ahead of the miniature smartphone’s expected official unveiling at CES later today.

Sony is heavily anticipated to launch the Xperia Z1S, the widely available miniature version of the Sony Xperia Z1, at its CES 2014 press conference later today, January 6.

However, notorious tech tipster @evleaks has beaten the Japanese electronics giant to the post, leaking the Xperia Z1S specs on Twitter.

Proving to be the most powerful of the mini smartphones launched so far (we’re looking at you HTC One mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini), the Xperia Z1S won’t differ that much from its beefier brother.

You should expect to see a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This is exactly the same processor as the Z1.

The Z1S should also have 4.3-inch 720p HD screen and run on a healthy 2300mAh battery.

This is a little reduced from the 5-inch 1080 x 1920p Full HD display of the Xperia Z1, but that was to be expected from the new mid-range handset.

However, the Xperia Z1S does retain the high-powered camera specs of the Z1. It should have a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, and previous leaks state it will match the f/2.0, 27mm wide angle lens and 3x digital zoom specs.

The 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor and Bionz image processing engine should also both be featured in the Z1S.

There will also be a 2-megapixel front-facing camera to compliment the rear offering.

Sony’s CES 2014 press conference starts at 5pm PST or 1am BST. TrustedReviews will be there to bring you all the official specs on the Sony Xperia Z1S.
