Sennheiser CX 3.00 in-ear headphones unveiled ahead of IFA launch

Sennheiser has jumped the IFA 2014 gun, formally unveiling its new in-ear headphones range, headlined by the Sennheiser CX 3.00.

The latest addition to the company’s popular CX line of in-ear headphones, the new CX 3.00s are part of a wider family of new audio offerings, including the more affordable CX 1.00 and CX 2.00 and the premium CX 5.00.

“Quality portable audio is becoming increasingly universal – particularly with the impressive development of smartphones and tablets,” Christian Ern, Sennheiser’s Director of Product Management said in unveiling the new line.

He added: “Expectations are shifting and people are expecting more from their music. Building on Sennheiser’s seven decades of experience in delivering excellent sound, the CX series anticipates this demand.

“The needs of mobile users are met through quality headsets with integrated mics and in-line remotes for both Apple and Samsung Galaxy devices. There’s no need compromise with the music you love.”

Launching a new design direction for the headphone brand, the CX 3.00 have adopted a more elliptical profile over past offerings.

This refined form allows for new driver technology to be introduced. Sennheiser has claimed that the new system will offer enhanced clarity across a variety of frequency ranges, particularly at the higher end of the spectrum.

Adding a tangle-free cable, a newly redesigned low-profile 3.5mm connector means your headphones are less likely to snag when connected to your phone or MP3 player.

The Sennheiser CX 3.00, which lack the in-line mic featured on the CX 5.00, will hit the UK on September 5.

We’ve had an early listed to the CX 3.00s and we were impressed with their well-rounded sounds and improved low-end. Stay tuned for our full review coming soon.
