iPhone 6 launch event confirmed for September 9 as invites go out

The iPhone 6 launch event will be held on September 9, Apple has confirmed.

Backing up weeks of speculation, Apple has issued invites to the post IFA unveiling, with the launch event widely expected to see the long awaited iPhone 6 enter the realms of reality.

Keeping things close to its chest, Apple’s invite reveals only the date – 9.9.2014 – and the simple, teasing statement “Wish we could say more”.

Although the iPhone has not been mentioned by name, the early September event is fitting with past iPhone announcement.

The subject of multiple leaks in recent weeks and months, the iPhone 6 looks set to adopt a 4.7-inch display alongside an all new, rounded form factor.

With the WWDC unveiled iOS 8 operating system set to run the show, the iPhone 6 will reported add a new A8 processor and improved camera optics. Apple’s fingerprint loving TouchID sensor is also expected to make the cut.

With Apple expected to introduce a mass of new products before the year’s end, there is a possibility the iPhone 6 cold share the stage with the heavily rumoured iWatch.

What would be Apple’s first wearable, the iWatch has been tipped as a touchscreen enabled smartwatch which would rival the Moto 360 and LG G Watch.

We will bringing you all the latest on Apple’s September 9 announcement so stay tuned to TrustedReviews for all things iPhone 6.
