Pentax K-S1 launched with unique design tweaks

The Pentax K-S1 has been officially announced with a range of 12 colours to choose from and a new illuminated design.

Although you’ll also be able to choose which colour your Pentax K-S1 rocks, you’ll also notice the LED body illumination details change according to your shooting mode.

LED lights placed around the body, as you can see in the above image, stay green for still image shooting, but change to red when you switch over to record film footage.

Pentax K-S1 Features

The Pentax K-S1 features a new 20.1-megapixel CMOS sensor and has an optical viewfinder with a 100 per cent field of view. The K-S1 also has the Pentax anti-aliasing filter simulator from the Pentax K-3, which was the first to let you toggle the filter.

You’ll get a top shutter speed for 1/6000 sec and a continuous shooting function offering speeds of 5.4fps.

The K-S1 has an ISO range up to 51200 and comes with an in-built shake reduction mechanism, which should offer shaper images, even at low lighting.

Photos and full 1080p HD videos can be viewed via the 3-inch LCD monitor, which has been given a supposedly easier to use graphical user interface.

For those looking for a little Instagram action on their SLR, the K-S1 comes with 21 digital filters or image processing tools that give you 10 distinctive effects for your images.

The Pentax K-S1 comes in 12 colours, including the three standard Black, White and Blue colours, four Fabric Collection options and five colours inspired by the changing colours of the night sky.
