LG has made the LG G3 Stylus phablet official ahead of its first public appearance at IFA 2014.
As is often LG's way of doing things, the company has revealed preliminary details concerning a new product ahead of its big reveal. In this case, it's the LG G3 Stylus.
This isn't even the first official glance at the LG G3 Stylus we've received. Back at the beginning of August, LG released a teaser image of the new large-screen smartphone.
Now a fresh info splurge from LG has given us a pretty good idea of what to expect at the IFA show in Berlin next week.
It seems the LG G3 Stylus won't be the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rival some were expecting. Rather, it appears to be an entry-level phablet.
The G3 Stylus will feature a 5.5-inch qHD display. The small 'q' on that should dismiss any notions of an LG G3-like pixel-packed screen. In this case, it refers to a mere 960 x 540 resolution.
This entry-level vibe is carried through to the LG G3 Stylus's innards, with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. That's accompanied by a mere 1GB of RAM.
Storage, too, is limited at just 8GB, though of course there's a microSD slot for expansion purposes.
There is a decent-sounding 13-megapixel camera around back, and the whole thing is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
Of course, the Stylus gets its name from its Rubberdium (yes, really) pen peripheral. This will allow note taking, doodling, and various other productive and not-so-productive tasks.
It seems as if price is a major factor with the LG G3 Stylus, with LG making repeated reference to the fact. That should tell you that the Stylus hasn't necessarily been created with western markets in mind.
The LG G3 Stylus will start rolling out in September, starting in Brazil and moving on to countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Russian Commonwealth.
