The iPad Air 2 release date has been confirmed and you’re not going to have to wait too long to get your hands on the TouchID incorporating tablet.
Having been formally unveiled alongside the iPad mini 3, Apple’s sixth-generation tablet will be officially available for purchase next week.
Although confirming the eagerly awaited tablet will start shipping in the coming days, the Cupertino-based company has failed to offer a precise date of release.
Giving consumers a chance to splash the cash early though, for those eager to snap up the 9.7-inch Nexus 9 rival Apple has confirmed iPad Air 2 pre-orders will open up tomorrow, October 17.
In a busy week for the iPhone 6 maker, the iPad Air 2 will launch alongside the new iPad mini and just days after tomorrow’s arrival of the iMac with 5K Retina display.
Ensuring there is an option to suit your needs; Apple is offering none different iPad Air 2 configurations.
With the tablet set to be made available in three colour schemes – silver, space grey and a new gold option – the tablet will also be offering in Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi plus 4G forms and in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB storage capacities.
A moderate improvement on last year’s iPad Air, the new tablet adds a powerful A8X processor alongside the formerly iPhone exclusive TouchID fingerprint sensor.
iPad Air 2 pricing is a familiar affair with the 16GB Wi-Fi model kicking things off at just £399. Costs go up to £659 for the 128GB Wi-Fi plus 4G option.
