Vertu for Bentley is a smartphone that matches your luxury car

Vertu recently launched its first mid-range smartphone, though it still cost an arm and a leg. Now the company is back to doing what it does best: making ludicrously high-end smarties, this one in collaboration with luxury carmaker Bentley.

As you'd expect, premium materials are the order of the day. The handset is "swathed in quilted calf leather, in the classic Bentley shade of Newmarket Tan" – but of course – and stitched with a diamond pattern.

Along with the posh leather you've got titanium with "tactile diamond knurling", detailing on the side and an engine-turned pattern on the titanium back plate. Open up the back, and you'll see the signature of the craftsman whose handiwork you're fondling.

There's also a Bentley logo to let people know you're minted.

So what about the features? You get Vertu's Concierge service, which promises to cater to your every sordid whim, Vertu Life, which brings you special curated events and experiences, and a special Vertu for Bentley app which gives you exclusive Bentley content like articles and dealer information.

Its speakers are tuned by Bang and Olufsen, and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat. It has a 4.7-inch screen – that's the same size as the iPhone 6 – 13-megapixel rear camera, and 64GB of internal memory. It costs €12,500 (£10,000).

Better be quick if you want to snap one up though, as it's limited to 2,000 units when it goes on sale this month.
