The Asus ZenWatch should be launched with a price under $199 later this month.
According to a new report, the Asus ZenWatch will be the cheapest Android Wear device currently on the market.
With the official launch scheduled for September 3 at IFA, we will get a good look at the first Asus wearable in just a few days.
The latest rumour courtesy of Taiwan Focus states that the ZenWatch will retail for under $199. That would put it around the £60 mark for the UK, which seems ridiculously cheap.
Although it won’t probably be that cheap in the UK, you can see how the Asus ZenWatch could be priced by looking at the US prices of the current Android Wear smartwatches.
The LG G Watch is $229 or £159.99, while the Samsung Gear Live is $199.99 or £169.99. If the price of the ZenWatch is under $199, you should see the Asus wearable very competitively priced.
Asus has already teased us with a few glimpses of the ZenWatch ahead of its official launch on September 3.
It looks to have a curved display encased in a metal, or at least metal effect, body.
Although it might have the potential to be the cheapest Android Wear device available, rumour has it there might be a delay between launch a release.
Apparently the ZenWatch might not high the market until October. At that point it will go on sale in the US and a few other select markets. It’s not clear if it will actually come to the UK at that point.
However, with only 48 hours until it is officially launched, we won’t have to wait long until we find out all the details.
