Rockstar has denied that the GTA 5 release date for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC has been delayed.
Rumour had it that the remastered version of GTA 5 for Xbox One, PC and PS4 had been pushed back to a 2015 launch, much to the dismay of the gaming community.
However, Rockstar has now confirmed that the game is still on track for the original autumn release.
Although there hasn’t been an official statement of sorts, over on NeoGAF Rockstar support revealed the autumn release date “has not changed”.
“I’m also looking forward to the PC release, however this release date has not changed,” explained Rockstar support. “Please see our support article, ‘Grand Theft Auto V Release Date on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC’ for the most recent information on this topic.”
The comments from Rockstar support are also supported by an Instagram post from model Cara Delevingne. She starred as the host of Non Stop Pop FM in the Xbox 360 and PS3 version, but has confirmed she’s updating her radio show for the new-gen/PC edition.
It’s not clear whether Non Stop Pop FM is the only station getting an update with the upcoming iteration of GTA 5 when it comes out later this year.
“Grand Theft Auto 5 will take full advantage of the power of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail,” explained Rockstar when announcing the new version. “Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.”
