Sony to launch two Android Wear devices at IFA?

Sony should launch two new Android Wear devices at IFA according to a new leak.

Along with two smartphones and a tablet – the Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact – it looks like Sony has two Android Wear watches to show off.

Thanks to 9to5Google sources, which claims to be “familiar with Sony’s plans”, the Japanese electronics giant is preparing to launch two Android Wear watches.

The first is a more traditional Android Wear smartwatch, a la LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, known as the Sony SmartWatch 3.

Its predecessor, the Sony SmartWatch 2 ran on standard Android with a heavy Sony UI, but the upcoming SmartWatch 3 will be pure Android Wear.

Apparently it will feature a 1.68-inch 320 x 320p display and offer IP58 water resistant certification, meaning it can survive at depths up to 1.5m in freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

As you can see in the albeit low resolution renders below, the SmartWatch 3 will resemble the Samsung Gear 2 Neo in terms of design.

There will also be an IFA unveiling for the Sony SmartBand Talk. This will be the spiritual successor to the health focused Sony SmartBand introduced earlier this year.

However, the SmartBand Talk will have a curved e-Ink display and will connect to your phone via Bluetooth for fitness tracking functionality.

Although the sources weren’t able to provide additional information, it looks like the SmartBand Talk will have more advanced phone connectivity and notification options than the original SmartBand.

It looks like it’s going to be a pretty busy IFA press conference for Sony later this week. But TrustedReviews will be on hand to bring you all the latest as it happens.
