You can just make it out in the blur
The Destiny install size on the Xbox One is 40GB according to leaked photographs of the game’s retail packaging.
Those Xbox One owners who already think their hard drives are looking a little full, might want to purchase an external hard drive pretty quick.
New photographs of the Xbox One Destiny case reveal that the game will require a minimum 40GB install upon purchase.
That is bound to increase over time too, thanks to DLC packs, updates and other goodies that Activision will release for the game.
Microsoft recently revealed that you can pre-download Destiny ahead of its September 9 release date. That would mean the game was ready to go as soon as the game is released on Tuesday.
Apparently, similar to the Destiny beta size (12.63GB), the pre-download Xbox One package will take up approximately 18GB of your hard drive space.
That will give you enough content to start playing straight away, while the rest of the game downloads in the background.
Microsoft added external hard drive support to the Xbox One in June. The console can support two external hard drives simultaneously, as long as they are 256GB or larger USB 3.0 hard drives.
Once formatted, these external hard drives can be used to increase your Xbox One’s storage capacity for more games, apps and DLC content.
External hard drives can be made the default save location, but if it happens to get full, content will automatically spill over into the internal hard drive, or vice versa.
This technique can also be used to take your games and their associated saves and DLC to your mates’ houses. You’ll need to sign into Xbox Live for any digitally purchased content or insert the disc to verify you own it, but you won’t be asked to re-download anything before you can start playing on your friend’s Xbox One.
