A new Motorola Moto G is on the way, dubbed the Moto G2. And according to an import database, Motorola has already shipped more than 70,000 of the devices into India.
The device is listed as the Moto G, but has the model number XT1068, which has previously leaked as being the Moto G2. So Motorola could still call the new handset the Moto G, as it did with the latest Moto G, which added 4G and a SIM card slot.
The successor to the Moto X is also thought to keep the name 'Moto X', so this could be a new naming convention by Motorola.
The Zauba database lists the new Moto G's price as Rs. 10,600, which is about £105. That's cheaper than the previous Moto G SIM free.
Only a 16GB version is mentioned, so there might be no 8GB model. It's listed as coming in black and white.
So what else can we expect from a new Moto G? It's said to be bigger than its predecessor, with a 5-inch screen that has a 720p resolution. Inside, it's said to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip, and on the back, an 8-megapixel camera. It's also thought to have dual SIM functionality, though probably not here in the UK.
Motorola is holding an event on Thursday where it's expected to announce the new Moto X alongside the new Moto G. We're also expecting more info on its Moto 360 Android Wear smartwatch.
