Following today’s unveiling of the HTC One Max, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer has confirmed that it will look to bring Android 4.3 and the new Sense 5.5 UI to the flagship HTC One “in the coming months.”
With the upcoming HTC One update to bring the phone’s software in line with the newly confirmed HTC One Max, the manufacturer has also confirmed that the spin off HTC One Mini will be on the receiving end of a software patch in the near future.
While the Samsung Galaxy S4 and LG G2 rivalling HTC One still runs Android 4.2.2 and the company’s Sense 5 user interface, the new HTC One Max has entered the realms of reality with the update Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 package.
Although the differences between the two software setups are small, HTC has stated that a HTC One update will be introduced shortly to bring the iPhone 5S challenger up to date.
"We are actively looking to roll that out in the coming months," HTC’s Director of Commercialisation and Product Management, Graham Wheeler, said while speaking with TrustedReviews.
Questioned on when the HTC One update will land he added: "We'll concentrate on the One first then move to the Mini slightly after.”
Long the thing of rumour and speculation, the HTC One Max was officially announced this morning as a 5.9-inch rival to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which will play host to an integrated fingerprint scanner.
Powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, the HTC One Max specs sheet sees the 1080p Full HD display line up alongside 2GB of RAM and the option of 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, both expandable via microSD – a feature missing from both the One and the One Mini.
