GTA 5 update patch 1.04 now available for PS3

Rockstar has issued a new GTA 5 title update, patch 1.04, for PS3 gamers, aiming to fix issues with vehicle losses.

The 1.04 PS3 patch "is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we'll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players."

Offered as a title update for PS3 gamers only, patch 1.04 is a 39MB download for GTA 5.

Earlier this month, another GTA 5 update was rolled out, with publisher Rockstar releasing patch 1.03 to address a number of bug fixes within the game.

Although the studio didn't officially reveal the complete ins and outs of the latest GTA 5 update, the latest patch, which comes just three weeks after the game’s official release, is said to close off some GTA Online options which have caused widespread issues.

With a raft of GTA Online problems having plagued the online, multiplayer platforms launch last week, the new GTA 5 update has been suggested to prevent gamers from farming money and constantly repeating the same missions.

Available for both Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers, the GTA 5 1.03 update weighed in as a 39MB free download for Sony’s console, and a 59MB patch for Xbox gamers.

Rockstar has been busy issuing GTA 5 updates and correcting GTA Online problems in recent weeks, with gamers complaining that the online platform has caused characters and in-game progress to be lost for no reason.

Responding to the complaints, a Rockstar spokesperson last week stated: "We are working diligently to identify and correct the causes for these losses, as well as to establish how best to restore any lost progress and value.”

Despite the issues, Rockstar has been a global success, with the game receiving a number of Guinness World Records for its early performances.

Having become the highest grossing day one entertainment release of all time, GTA 5 went on to generate more than $1 billion in sales in just three days.
