Claimed Samsung Galaxy S5 features have leaked, with an integrated eye scanner tipped for inclusion as a biometric security measure.
One of the more far-out Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours to do the rounds, it has been suggested that the upcoming handset will forgo a fingerprint scanner like the iPhone 5S or HTC One Max, instead favouring an eye scanner as an extra layer of security.
Citing unnamed sources, AndroidSAS has claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 features list will see an integrated eye scanner to allow the handset’s owners to unlock their Samsung Galaxy S4 follow-ons, simply by looking at the phone.
Although it is not currently clear exactly how the sensor would work, reports out of Korea have suggested that Samsung will piece together the component itself. As always, we suggested that this Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours is taken with a considerable pinch of salt.
With many having already figured out workarounds for the recently introduced iPhone 5S and HTC One Max fingerprints scanners, it has been suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S5 eye scanner will offer more accurate security measures.
Far from the first Samsung Galaxy S5 rumour to do the rounds, it is widely believed that the future LG G2 and Google Nexus 5 rival will play host to a new, premium metal body akin to that of the HTC One.
On top of this Samsung has already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S5, in a bid to compete with the iPhone 5S, will run a powerful 64-bit processor. Making the announcement, Shin Jong-Kyun, Samsung CEO of Mobile recently stated: “Our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality.”
Although the Samsung Galaxy S4 has only been on sale for a little over six months, it has been suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date will be held in January. It has been reported that the Korean company is pushing forward the launch of its next flagship phone in a bid to combat waning interest in the current model.
