UK heatwave sees demand for Dyson fans soar 17,000%

As the UK heatwave continues, Dyson has revealed that interest in its range of Air Multiplier fans has risen a staggering 17,000 per cent.

With weekly sales of the futuristic looking fans jumping 17,000 per cent year-on-year thanks to the unseasonable high and prolonged temperatures in the UK, the vacuum cleaner turn fan specialist has revealed that it is now facing stock limitations.

“Dyson’s fans are now pretty much sold out across the country,” an official spokesperson for the company told TrustedReviews. “Air Multiplier technology is engineered to cool. With the UK’s first heatwave since 2006 we are experiencing record demand for our technology.”

They added: “Last week we saw a 17,000 per cent increase in sales compared to the same week last year. The heatwave has created a kind of snowball effect. Keeping up with this demand is proving tough as stocks are running low. All the major retailers have shortages – John Lewis, Argos, Curry’s. And we have limited supply on Dyson.co.uk. The best place to get them still is Curry’s.”

Discussing the unexpected rise in demand, the company representative stated: “We’ve really never seen anything like it. We’ve even set up a cooling station down at London Waterloo to save commuters from the blistering heat.

“Trains have been up the creak due to the heat. It’s hotter than Bali on the Central Line! London’s commuters have been trying to escape the heat in all sorts of ways.”

Despite having added the Dyson AM02 Mini Tower Fan to its Air Multiplier ranks in recent weeks, the company has suggested that although temperatures have been pushing 30-degrees-centigrade, it is its fan turn heater, the AM05 Dyson Hot plus Cool which is driving demand. “The AM05 has driven sales as Brits hedge their bets in anticipation for a no-doubt cold winter,” the spokesperson told us.
