Leaked Nexus 7 2.0 press shot
Press images of the next Google Nexus 7 tablet appear to have leaked onto the internet, confirming some of the device's previously rumoured specs in the process.
The above image was tweeted by the ever-reliable @evleaks. It shows a new Nexus 7-inch tablet with a number of interesting features.
Its design isn't a million miles away from the original Google Nexus 7, but if anything it appears longer. This could be due to a slightly thinner side bezel and the lack of surrounding chrome, but it does make the top and bottom bezel appear extremely thick - especially when compared to something like the iPad mini.
A side-on picture also makes the device appear thinner and sleeker than before.
The main images also confirms a major spec detail. Unlike the original Nexus 7, the new Nexus 7 will sport a rear-facing camera, which is said to be a 5-megapixel example. The front camera is said to be a 1.2-megapixel unit.
According to this latest report, the second generation Google Nexus 7 will come in 16GB and 32GB variants, so no hamstrung 8GB version this time around.
We could be set to see the device officially unveiled on Wednesday of this week, as Google is holding a special event hosted by Sundar Pichai. It should see the first official showing of Android 4.3, and we know that Google loves to show off its new mobile operating systems with fresh hardware.
