The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is now on sale as a 4.3-inch spinoff to the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 and we have gone up close and personal with the sub-sized handset to bring you our Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini video review.
A direct rival to the upcoming HTC One Mini, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is one of a trio of spinoffs from the flagship Android phone, hitting retailers alongside the camera heavy Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and the waterproof Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.
“Demand for the Galaxy S4 has been phenomenal since it launched in April and we hope to build on this success with the Galaxy S4 Mini,” Simon Stanford, Vice President of IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland said at the time of the handset’s unveiling. “This new handset is the ideal smartphone companion for anyone who wants a compact device packed with innovation.”
Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Features
Replacement to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini , the S4 Mini sees a reduced array of specs over its flagship sibling paired with a lower price point, a combination that makes a solid mid-market offering.
Running Google’s latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini specs sheet runs a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a rather standard 960 x 540 pixel resolution, down considerably on the S4’s 1080p Full HD screen. It measures in at just 8.9mm thick and 107g in weight.
Powered by a 1.7-GHz dual-core CPU, the S4 Mini adds 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD, into the mix. With an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera, a second, 1.9-megapixel snapper sits up front.
