Details and images of the Panasonic Lumix GX7 mirrorless camera have leaked onto the internet, revealing a number of exciting new features and a retro-inflected design overhaul.
The Lumic GX7 is the much anticipated follow-up to last year's highly rated Panasonic Lumix GX1. Now, images on Fotomagazine and specs on 4/3 Rumours suggest that we're in for a worthy update.
As you can see from the main picture below, the Lumix GX7 takes a slightly different approach to design when compared to the GX1. Out goes the all-black plastic body and in comes a magnesium construction, with the notable option of a retro-styled silver finish along the top controls section.
The image also reveals a 20mm prime lens, which would suggest that this will come as part of the package.
The Panasonic Lumix GX7 is expected to come with an 18-megapixel Micro Four Thirds sensor sensor (possibly only good for 16-megapixel pictures, like the GX1) and on-sensor image stabilisation - the first ever on a Panasonic camera.
Expect shutter speeds of up to 1/8000 and shooting speed of 5fps (or 4fps with continuous autofocus).
Another interesting feature is its new extendable and tiltable viewfinder. Also tiltable is its 3-inch LCD screen. Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity will also be included in the package.
Apparently the Panasonic Lumix GX7 will ship in September at a price of €1,000 (about £863) for the body only, which is quite a leap over the €600 Panasonic Lumix GX1.
