Dyson has launched its latest compact vacuum cleaner, with the Dyson DC49 formally unveiled with the same digital motor as the company’s hand dryers.
With a footprint that can fit on a single sheet of A4 paper, the Dyson DC49 is the company’s smallest vacuum cleaner to date which benefits from its central Ball technology for improved manoeuvrability in tight spaces. Far from your casual purchase, a Dyson DC49 price has been set a penny shy of £350, expensive by anyone’s budget.
“Investing in our core technologies means we can develop leaner, more efficient machines,” Dyson founder and inventor James Dyson said of the new DC49. “Using the new high-speed Dyson digital motor, we have developed a machine that is smaller and quieter, yet even more powerful.”
Dyson DC49 Features
Designed for city based flat and apartment dwellers, the Dyson DC49 is a compact vacuum option which weighs a comfortable 2.7kg. Although benefitting from improved storage possibilities, this compact design restricts the device’s dust capacity, with just 0.5 litres of pickup able to be held within its trigger-released bin. The whole vacuum is 30 per cent smaller than last year's Dyson DC47.
Partnered with turbinehead and motorhead floortools, both of which feature carbon fibre bristles for improved, static-free cleaning, the Dyson DC49 makes use of the digital motor found within the Dyson hand dryers to offer improved suction at lower volumes. Utilising cyclone technology to further minimise noise disruption while improving dirt filtering, it
With the Ball at the heart of the cleaner providing a tight turning circle and protection against for the machine’s inner workings, a 5 metre power cable further aids manoeuvrability.
Dyson DC49 Release Date and Price
With £349.99 price tag, the Dyson DC49 release date has been set as today, July 26, with the latest vacuum cleaner offering available online and through a selection of high street retailers.
