A lot of fitness trackers and smartwatches also track your sleep. But what about a dedicated device for keeping tabs on your snoozing? Meet Luna.

It's a mattress cover that turns any bed into a smartbed. You can adjust the temperature for individual zones, so you and your partner will sleep soundly even if one of you gets hotter easier. (It's just like adjusting the temperature for individual car seats.)

You don't have to do anything either. It learns your bed time, and adjusts the temperature accordingly.

It tracks your sleep phases, heart rate and breathing rate. You can see how you slept without strapping on any cumbersome devices.

Using other apps, you can tell it how much exercise you got through the day and what you ate. It then builds a picture of your lifestyle and suggests how you can sleep better.

When it detects you've fallen asleep, it sends a signal to your other smart devices to make sure the lights are off, the front door is locked, the alarm is set and the temperature in the house is optimum. Which should help you sleep soundly.

When the alarm sounds, it can also sync with your Wi-Fi coffee machine, so you'll wake to the smell of a fresh brew.

It's a good idea. In our experience, the sleep tracking feature on most smartbands is a bit of an afterthought, so we'd be interested to try a dedicated device.

It hit its $100,000 goal in just six hours, and currently has over five times that. There are still 24 days left in the campaign.
