Now TV now compatible with Chromecast

Sky has updated its Now TV mobile apps, adding in Google Chromecast support for its streaming service.

Although Sky hasn’t sounded the trumpets for the new update, the feature will allow you to cast the TV shows, movies or sporting events you are watching on Now TV directly to your TV.

All you need to do is tap the Chromecast icon in the top right hand corner of the Now TV app on your Android or iOS device, select the appropriate Chromecast and you’re off.

Previously you were forced to buy the £10 Now TV streaming box to achieve the same effect on the biggest screen in your house.

The Chromecast support is available as part of a free update for the Android and iOS apps now, but of course you’ll need to pay for Now TV services to actually be able to watch any of the content.

A Sky Movies Pass is £8.99 per month, but you’ll get access to over 800 movies per month, with 16 new premieres every 30 days.

If TV series are more your thing, you could opt for the Sky Entertainment Pass, which is £4.99 per month. Now TV has 150 box sets on demand thanks to its 12 entertainment channels.

The newly introduced Sky Sports Day Pass is £6.99 and offers you 24 hours of access to all the Sky Sports Channels.

If you need a little longer with your favourite sports, then there’s also a Sky Sports Week pass, which is £10.99 for 7 days of access. It should be perfect for those looking to watch the longer sporting events like the US Open or the PGA Tour.

The Chromecast costs £30 directly from Google, or you can pick it up cheaper from the likes of Argos.
