Asus MeMO Pad 7 refreshed at IFA

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 has been refreshed at IFA, with a host of updated features.

Made of fibreglass with a duralumin frame, the MeMO Pad 7 isn’t the thinnest at 8.3mm, but it’s super light, weighing in at 269g.

“Consumers have high expectations of their tablets nowadays – they increasingly rely on tablets for usages that require high processing power and connectivity,” said Erik Reid, VP of Intel Mobile and Communications Group and GM of the Tablet Business Unit at Asus. “The Asus MeMO Pad 7 fulfils these needs by combining the lightning-fast performance and long battery life provided by the Intel Atom processor, with the option of ultra-fast LTE connectivity enabled by the Intel XMM 7160 modem.”

Asus MeMO Pad 7 Features

The Asus MeMO Pad 7 features a 7-inch full 1080p HD display running Android 4.4 KitKat. It runs on a 1.8GHz 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor with 2GB of RAM.

In the rear you’ll find a 5-megapixel camera, combined with a 2-megapixel front-facing alternative. You’ll get the option of 16GB or 32GB of internal storage plus microSD card support up to 64GB.

Asus claims you’ll get 11 hours of battery life out of the MeMO Pad and you’ll be able to take advantage of 4G LTE or Wi-Fi connectivity, depending on the model you choose. There’s also Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS support.

When it launches later this year, it’ll be available for €199 in Europe. That equates to around £160 in the UK.
