New Motorola Moto X 2 arrives with Moto Maker

The new Motorola Moto X 2 has arrived in the UK with Moto Maker in tow.

With a curved metal frame and 5.2-inch full HD display, the new Moto X can be adorned with wood paneling and genuine leather finishes.

New Motorola Moto X 2 Features

The Motorola Moto X 2 comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED full 1080p HD display with a 423ppi image density. The original Motorola Moto X came with a 5-inch 720p HD display with an image density of 316ppi.

It runs on a 2.5Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 graphics.

The Moto X 2 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f2.5 aperture, dual flash, 4x zoom and 4K UHD video recording functionality – quite the upgrade from its predecessor’s 10-megapixel 1080p offerings.

Motorola has adorned its latest flagship with an array of four microphones around its new metal frame. This is to help pick up your voice for the enhanced voice controls, which are fully customisable and work with third party apps.

You can even use IR gestures with the new Moto Actions features to control your phone.

It is powered by a larger 2300mAh battery, which means a longer battery life than its predecessor. The new Moto X also has a new turbo charge feature that claims you can get 8 hours of battery from just 15 minutes of charge.

Although you can choose from a bamboo or leather back panel as standard with the Moto X 2’s metal frame, Motorola is finally introducing Moto Maker to the UK.

Moto Maker lets you choose from a variety of colours and accents, software options and even laser engraved your own signature in the back for full customization options.

New Motorola Moto X 2 Release Date and Price

The new Moto X 2 will be available from the end of September, with prices starting at £419.99.

It will be offered in 16GB Black, Leather and Bamboo options as standard.

If you want to opt for the Moto Maker, 16GB models start at £419.99. The wood or leather Moto Maker customisations push the prices up to £439.99. 32GB models start at £459.99 with Moto Maker, or with the wood or leather finishes from £479.99.
