Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Swarovski edition primed

Samsung is priming a crystal–encrusted Swarovski edition of its forthcoming Galaxy Note 4. The Korean giant revealed the plans after it showed off a similarly bling version of its newly minted Gear S smart watch, dubbed the Gear S Strap.

While not mentioning the Galaxy Note 4 by name, Samsung’s statement about the swanky new Gear S mentioned that the ‘Swarovski for Samsung’ deal would extend to back covers for its ‘next flagship device’.

Neither product appears to offer any more tech than the standard issue models, suggesting this is very much something for those who want to stand out from the crowd and shout about just how much cash they’ve got.

“One of the key aspects in wearable devices is providing diverse options for consumers to freely express their own taste and style,” said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at Samsung. “Our ongoing collaboration with Swarovski as demonstrated in the new Gear S Strap, allows us to stay ahead of trends and on the cutting-edge of design and style.”

Samsung’s move comes on the same day that its sworn rival LG revealed a Swarovski encrusted version of its Curved OLED TV. The telly’s stand has been tricked out with crystals, something which LG reckons will compliment the brightness of the screen. The TV, and Samsung’s new wares, are due to go on show at IFA, which gets under way in Berlin later this week.
