If you are planning to buy the Samsung Gear VR virtual reality headset, these are the 10 apps and experiences to try out first

Until a consumer-ready version of the Oculus Rift turns up, the Samsung Gear VR is your best way to get virtual reality in your living room. Now on sale in the UK priced at £185, you have to already own or be persuaded to buy the Galaxy Note 4 (£600) to make the Gear VR Innovator Edition work and for some games, investing in one of Samsung's GamePad controllers will come in handy too.

For content, everything that's compatible with the Gear VR can be downloaded from the Samsung Gear VR app powered by Oculus, which is available for free from the Google Play store. You won't be able to play PC games like you can with the Oculus Rift , but there's a good mix to get your started and it's currently all free.
