FIFA 14 to debut at Xbox reveal
EA Sports has confirmed that FIFA 14 will be one of the games demoed at the new Xbox reveal this evening.
FIFA 14 will be showcased at Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox event tonight, according to the EA Sports FIFA Facebook page and new cover image.
The Facebook page links to a newly created Xbox reveal event, asking fans of the series to join them during the event from 6pm tonight, May 21, to “See the next generation of FIFA”.
“RSVP if you’re ready to hear about the next generation of FIFA,” reads the Facebook event. “Tune in to hear news on FIFA 14 during the worldwide livestream of XBOX: A New Generation Revealed, May 21 at 10am PDT on Xbox.com or Xbox Live.”
The next instalment in the extremely popular football simulator series was officially announced last month, but EA Sports has now confirmed that the game will be arriving on the Xbox 720.
FIFA 14 will also be arriving on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, but EA Sports has yet to show any in-game footage, which may be demoed tonight. So far, the only FIFA 14 videos that have been released are based on the new technology in the game, and a handful of screenshots.
There is still no confirmed FIFA 14 release date from EA, several retailers have suggest that it will launch on October 4, slightly later than the series usual release schedule. EA Sports also announced that there will be no FIFA 14 Wii U release due to an unsuccessful FIFA 13 adoption on the console.
The second game to be officially confirmed for an Xbox reveal showing, FIFA 14 will be joined this evening by Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts footage. The Xbox event presence for the game was revealed with the game’s first teaser trailer, stating “see it live at the new generation Xbox reveal”.
The next-generation Xbox reveal will happen tonight starting a 6pm BST. Gaming enthusiasts can watch live via Xbox Live or Xbox.com.
