HTC One production doubles to meet “strong demand”

Production of the HTC One will double from May in order to meet the “strong demand” for the Taiwanese company’s flagship.

HTC will be doubling production of the HTC One smartphone this month, as the company combat initial component shortages and high handset demand.

President of HTC North Asia, Jack Tong, said HTC One production will double this month and increase further in June to meet the market.

“Our capacity is expected to rise significantly starting from mid-May,” said Tong in the report. “We are optimistic about our high-end sales during April and June.”

The handset originally faced release date launches caused by component shortages. The HTC One delays were due to issues supplying sufficient UltraPixel camera components, confirmed by HTC CMO Benjamin Ho earlier this year.

HTC One Features

The HTC One runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean overlaid with the new HTC Sense 5 UI, which introduces the new HTC BlinkFeed feature. The HTC One homescreen is transformed into a customisable live stream of content from more than 1,400 media sources with HTC BlinkFeed.

Packing a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, the HTC One is powered by a 2,300mAh Lithium-Polymer battery.

Playing host to new UltraPixel camera technology with f/2.0, capable of Full 1080p HD video recording capabilities, the HTC One utilises HTC Zoe photography technology to transform a user’s photo gallery into an animated memory bank. The HTC One automatically takes 3-second video and 20 still frames with every shutter press animating the previously still photo gallery.

The HTC One features a 4.7-inch Full 1080 x 1920p HD resolution display with a 469ppi image density and Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
