If you’re in the market for a new iPad or Android slate we’ve got some good news; O2 has confirmed plans to start selling refurbished tablets at cut-price rates.

Building on its existing refurb phone business, the bubbly network has revealed that from today, February 13, it will offer refurbished Wi-Fi tablets at least £50 cheaper than their traditional retail prices.

What’s more, if you’re after on-the-go internet, refurbished cellular enabled tablets will be available through O2 Refresh a minimum of £2 per month cheaper than brand new models.

At launch, the range of available refurb tablets will include Apple’s former market leading iPad Air and iPad mini 2 devices as well as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 8.4.

If you’re after something different, however, fret not, O2 will be adding further models in the coming weeks, including Sony, Dell and Asus branded tablets.

Looking to reassure consumers about the quality of the refurbished devices, an O2 spokesperson stated: “All O2 Refurb products are items which have been returned to O2 within 14 days, restored to their original condition and thoroughly tested to ensure they are like new.”

Adding a further cherry to this money-saving cake, all refurb slates are covered by the same guarantees and warranties as their new-from-box counterparts.

“All come with the same returns policy as normal O2 deals as well as a 12 month warranty for Apple tablets and 24 months for Android,” they told us.
