A technical glitch at Netflix on Wednesday evening briefly saw the latest season of its most celebrated original show, House of Cards, go live two weeks earlier than planned.

Ahead of its February 27 release date, the scandal-laden political drama, a problem at the streaming giant gave fans early access for the briefest of moments.

It was live long enough for some users to begin streaming the first ten episodes of the Kevin Spacey vehicle.

Netflix later acknowledged the bug in a tweet from the House of Cards account, which read: “This is Washington. There's always a leak. All 13 episodes will launch February 27.”

The leak was long enough for several news outlets, including The Verge, to glean episode summaries, giving avid fans the opportunity to gauge the plotlines for the eagerly anticipated third season.

The glitch represents a unique problem for Netflix in the streaming world. It’s not like a glitch can could really cause a conventional TV broadcaster can begin broadcasting an episode before it’s scheduled release date is it?
