After much rumour and speculation, what looks to be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has finally passed through the AnTuTu benchmark test.
The results are fairly impressive too, with the device setting a record score for the benchmark suite at 60978, as reported by PhoneArena.
That puts the phone’s multi-stage test score higher than any other handset previously recorded.
This also means we can break down just why the device’s chipset came out on top, with clear improvements being made in 3D objects visualisation.
What’s more, we can also glean that the device is using the octa-core Exynos 7420.
That’s Samsung’s custom-built chip set to combat this year’s other primary flagship chipset, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 .
The advantage that the Exynos chip has is that it’s built using a 14nm FinFet manufacturing process, compared to the less efficient 20nm one used by Qualcomm.

Other clues to the device’s final form include a listing for a 5.1-inch display, a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 (576 ppi), 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage.
A 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter also appeared on the results sheet.
While none of this is particularly surprising, it’s interesting to see an apparent confirmation of Samsung eschewing the Snapdragon series, as well as hopeful results for the Exynos chip’s performance.
