I love this town!

Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night? Have you or your family seen a spook, spectre or ghost? Does busting make you feel good? If so, Ghostbusters: The Board Game is for you.

It's officially licensed by Columbia Pictures, and features artwork by Dan Schoening, who illustrated the Ghostbusters comic book series. It's an episodic adventure game for one to four players, which is co-operative and customisable.

Players take the role of either Venkman, Spengler, Stantz or Zeddemore and battle ghosts, ghouls and three bosses: Slimer, Idulnas and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

It comes with player cards, dice, slime tokens, 10 double-sided game board tiles, a model of Ecto-1, a PKE Meter and ghost cards.

Each character has their own strengths – Venkman is a risk-taker who works best in close proximity to ghosts, for example. To complete a scenario you'll need teamwork, planning and resourcefulness. There are three campaigns, each with four scenarios that culminate with a battle against a boss.

The three types of dice represent the proton packs and ghost traps, the unpredictable movements of the ghosts and the chaotic activity of the gates to the spirit world. During each turn, you move, shoot proton streams, deposit trapped ghosts, use unique character abilities and drive the Ecto-1 to complete objectives.

Who knows how it actually plays. But come on, it's Ghostbusters!

It's been successfully funded and should ship in October.
