Beam it out, Scotty

If you're giving a business presentation, or just want to play with your cat, the iPin is for you.

It's the world's smallest laser pointer for iOS and Android devices. It's so small, it fits in the iPhone's headphone jack with no protruding parts. Though the version for Android is a bit more bulky.

Fire up the app, and you can beam a red light out of the top of your device. Handy for highlighting important facts in a business presentation, or driving your cat doolally.

Also in the app, swipe left and right on the screen, and you can flick between pages of your presentation. Swipe up, and a cursor appears. Your iPhone screen then doubles as a trackpad, so you can move the cursor by dragging your thumb around.

Handy for presentations, less so for cats.

There's a countdown alarm too, to make sure your presentation doesn't go on any longer than necessary. (We've all sat through those.)

It uses about as much power as it does to play a song, so won't drain your battery. You can clip it onto your headphone cable so you don't lose it too. Use a case? There's an extra long version that accounts for the extra bulk.

The Android version is a bit less subtle though. It's about the size of a USB key, and plugs into your device's microUSB port. Once again it's one rule for iPhone owners, and another for everyone else...

You can pick one up for $45 (£29). It should ship next month.
