Three will give you a free phone if your name’s Theon or Arya

Hark, denizens of Westeros! A free flagship smartphone could be coming your way, courtesy of Three.

The UK-based mobile network is giving away either an LG G3 or Sony Xperia Z3 Compact to anyone with Arya or Theon as their birth name.

If you’re one of the (un)lucky few to have such a name, you can head down to a Three store in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, or Glasgow to pick up a complimentary smartphone from April 11.

For the unaware, Arya and Theon are two of the main characters in the Game of Thrones TV show, which is based on George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series.

Unfortunately, if the TV series inspired you to stamp a fantasy moniker on your child’s birth certificate, you’re out of luck – they need to be at least 18-years-old to claim a handset.

If you’re an ardent Game of Thrones fan, however, your Westerosi offspring might just qualify. The first book landed on store shelves back in 1996, which is 19 years ago.

Your name alone won’t bear smartphone fruit, mind – upon entering the store, you also need to declare ‘I’ve played the game of phones’ to earn a free handset. As if the name wasn’t bad enough…

You’ll also need a photo ID with you, to prove you’re not defrauding Three with dodgy credentials.

It’s worth noting that no Game of Thrones inspired names other than Arya and Theon qualify for the deal.

This means Three won’t be giving free blowers to anyone called Ned, Bran (the Stark child, not the flake), Cersei, Daenerys, or Joffrey.

Although if your name’s Joffrey, you’ve probably got no mates to call anyway…
