Images of the first Apple Watch unboxing have emerged online just days before the device is made available for pre-order.

The series of snaps were posted by Instagram user Jeremy Gan – whose profile is now private – showing off the retail boxing for Apple’s first wearable device.

MacRumors reports that the pictures were taken inside the Daily Mail’s New York offices. This suggests the publication has already had hands-on with the device.

The Apple Watch box appears to mimic classic watch packaging. Specifically, we’re looking at a cube-style container inside which a circular mould sits for the timepiece to rest upon.

The packaging is almost entirely white, albeit with some necessary device information printed on the exterior. This fits with Apple’s approach to packaging its other products.

Images of select Apple Watch band boxes have also turned up. These take on an elongated shape and appear to be made of cardboard.

Little other than an image of the strap inside the box is printed on the exterior.

Despite the Apple Watch being just days away from hitting retailers’ shelves, Apple has yet to formally showcase the devices official packaging. As such, we can’t verify the contents of the leaked images.

Fortunately, it does seem as though the Apple Watch strap boxing might be accurate, as an image from Apple’s careers website last month also seemingly revealed the packaging.

It’s worth noting that although the two shots show similar strap packaging, the careers website version appears to show a slightly more tapered boxing style for the bands.

The Apple Watch is available for pre-order starting April 10, so we may know the truth then.
