Forget the HTC One M9, the Taiwanese manufacturer has a new flagship phone on the way as the HTC One M9+ is formally unveiled in China.
Confirming the flurry of leaks and rumours that had surrounded the phone’s expected arrival, the HTC One M9+ has now entered the realms of reality with a larger 5.2-inch form than its flagship sibling.
The phone’s display isn’t only bigger, but better, too. While the M9 retained the same 1080p, Full HD display as its predecessor, the M9+ has moved to a visually impressive 2560 x 1440 pixel QHD panel.
This display offers a suitably sharp 565 pixels-per-inch image density and is fitted within a similar dual-tone metallic body as its MWC-unveiled stable mate.
Beneath the surface, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor has been traded in for a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795T chipset.
This is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of integrated storage.
The M9’s 20.7-megapixel camera has been switched out too, with a 20-megapixel Duo Camera making an appearance alongside a UltraPixel front-facing snapper.
Another major new addition to the HTC One M9+ is the arrival of a physical home button.
A feature overlooked by past flagship HTC handsets, the M9+ has adopted the physical control and fitted it with an integrated fingerprint scanner, much like those found on the iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
HTC’s trademark BoomSound speakers also make an appearance alongside Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop OS skinned with the latest HTC Sense 7.0 UI.

The HTC One M9+, like its 5-inch sibling, will be available in a selection of colour schemes, with silver, gold and gunmetal options to be available at launch.
Despite having been confirmed for release in China, there is currently no word on when, or indeed if, the HTC One M9+ will be handed an international release.
