Apple Watch pre-orders have officially kicked off, but don’t expect to see the timepiece adorning your wrist anytime soon.
Despite orders of the eagerly awaited wearable having previously been tipped for a late April arrival, shipping dates for select Apple Watch models are already being listed as June.
If waiting a further two months for the smartwatch doesn’t take your fancy, the Moto 360 rival is expected to be available in limited quantities in store from April 24.
For those looking to pinch the pennies, we’ve got bad news – all 10 iterations of the more affordable (yet still pricey) Apple Watch Sport are not expected to be dispatched until the height of summer.
Similarly, all eight configurations of the super high-end, gold coated Apple Watch Edition will not ship until June or July at the earliest.
If you’re simply desperate for the Apple Watch to adorn your wrist, there is still the chance of getting a device delivered on April 24.
At the time of writing, just 1 hour after pre-orders opening, just one Apple Watch is listed with a day one shipping date.
That model is the £559 38mm Stainless Steel Apple Watch with a Black Classic Buckle.
All other standard Apple Watch models have estimated shipping times between 4-6 weeks and June.
Yesterday Apple warned wannabe owners to expect significant stock restraints for its first wearable.
“Based on the tremendous interest from people visiting our stores, as well as the number of customers who have gone to the Apple Online Store to mark their favourite Apple Watch ahead of availability, we expect that strong customer demand will exceed our supply at launch,” Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores, Angela Ahrendts, said.
