Misfit has announced a series of partnership, which allow owners of its Misfit Flash wearable to use the fitness tracker as a remote control for a host of other smart services.

The new, so-called Smart Button functionality built into the sensor will enable users to perform actions like turn their Spotify Playlists on and off.

The company also announced it is working with Nest on a solution that’ll sync up the Misfit’s sleep tracking capabilities and smart alarm with the popular Nest learning thermostat.

That way the wearer might find it easier to climb out of bed on a cold winter morning if the central heating comes on as soon as they stir from a good night’s sleep.

Misfit is also banking on integration with IFTTT (If this then that) which will allow Flash users to connect up to over 160 products and services. Users will be able to turn devices on and off, send quick messages or send fitness information to an archive.

Another partnership with Logitech will give Misfit Flash wearers the opportunity to control their home entertainment system with the smart Harmony platform.

Misfit says the new Harmony API will enable one touch activities like “Watch a Movie,” “Play Games” and “Listen to Music.”

Other integrations announced today include the Yo Messaging app, the August Smart Lock, and the Leeo Smart Alert Nightlight.
