Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer Beta confirmed for December release

The eagerly awaited Halo 5: Guardians Beta release date has been confirmed, with the playable teaser to be introduced this December.

With the full Halo 5: Guardians release having recently been confirmed for 2015 – much to the disappointment of some gamers – Microsoft and developer 343 Industries have confirmed that the multiplayer beta will give you a chance to have an early play of the upcoming release in time for the Christmas period, with beta keys being included with Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

This December we will launch the new Halo 5: Guardians beta,” 343 Industries’s Bonnie Ross said in making the announcement during Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference.

She added: “The new beta will debut new game modes and characters.”

Paying homage to the impact the Halo franchise has had on the life of Microsoft’s console offerings, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer added: “The Halo franchise is the reason why the Xbox is here today.”

As well as confirming the Halo 5: Guardians Beta release date, Ross used the E3 conference to tease new details on the upcoming game.

She stated: “It’s not just about creating a game, it’s about telling Chief’s full tale.”

The Halo 5: Guardians Beta will drop just weeks after Microsoft and 343 Industries launch a backcatologue of Halo titles – Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

This new bundle release is set to land for Xbox One on November 11, bringing every Halo title to one console for the first time.
