NHL 15 detailed during EA’s E3 conference

NHL 15 is on its way and publisher EA has dedicated part of its E3 2014 press conference to offer up new details on the upcoming ice hockey title.

Although an NHL 15 release date remains a mystery, the developer has teased the future sports release, suggesting that it will mark a new era for hockey-based video games.

What will change in the NHL when it finally comes to the PS4 and Xbox One? My answer is virtually everything,” Dean Richards, Studio General Manager at EA Canada, the house behind NHL 15 said in unveiling the game.

The first officially licensed hockey game that will hit both Sony and Microsoft’s latest generation consoles – the PS4 and Xbox One respective – NHL 15 will feature all new physics on not only the full contingent of 12 players on the ice, but the puck as well.

Suggesting that “NHL 15 will bring the energy of the sport to life,” Richards confirmed that the game will also benefit from some of the same environment features being introduced to football sim FIFA 15.

A more realistic field of play with improved stadium mapping, NHL 15 will also benefit from more emotive and true-to-life crowds, all of which should help improve the realism of the game.

Of course, the customary player graphic tweaks will be introduced, meaning your skating, shooting and – most importantly – fighting will look truly next-gen.
