The iPad mini 2 release date has been rumoured, with the Retina display hosting 7-inch tablet tipped to hit retailers on November 21.
While Apple has remained somewhat vague on the iPad mini 2 release date so far, stating only that the tablet will launch “later in November” than the iPad Air, retailers in the US have started predicted more precise arrival times for the second-gen tablet.
Although Apple has yet to offer any indication on the validity of the claims, retailer Target has listed the iPad mini 2 in its online store alongside a November 21 iPad mini 2 release date.
A launch that would see the tablet hit stores in America, and presumably the UK three weeks from today, the mooted November 21 iPad mini 2 release date would also see the Google Nexus 7 2 land a week ahead of Thanks Giving and the lucrative Black Friday shopping period.
Officially unveiled last week, the iPad mini 2 with Retina Display is built around the same brushed metal design as its predecessor, with the jump to a new 7.9-inch Retina display the tablet’s big talking point.
On top of the improved visuals, the iPad mini 2 is set to be considerable speedier than its predecessor, running the same 64-bit A7 processor as the iPhone 5S which landed last month. Available in 16GB, 32GB 64GB and now 128GB storage forms, the iPad mini 2 price starts from £319 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model, rising to a hefty £659 for the 128GB Wi-Fi plus cellular option.
While the exact iPad mini 2 release date is still unclear, the iPad Air release date will be held tomorrow, November 1, with a number of retailers up and down the UK set to swing open their doors at 8am in anticipation of high demand.
